Discover forest with foresters!
Activities of forest pedagogics in Slovakia are coordinated by National Forest Centre –Institute for Forest Consulting and Education in Zvolen.
Forest pedagogues are employees of forest institutions who work in operating management or as technical or economic staff on forestry premises, or they are pedagogues on forestry schools.
How to become a forest pedagogue?
You need:
- at least a secondary school education,
- to accomplish the training course called „Forest pedagogics” accredited by Ministry of Education SR (in 2006) and Ministry of Agriculture SR (in 2008).
Forest pedagogics training course is annually organized by National Forest Centre – Institute for Forest Consulting and Education in Zvolen.
Training participant will acquire necessary knowledge and competence in the field of developmental psychology, pedagogy and teaching-focused didactics, pedagogical communication, drama in education, project-based and experiential learning, work with public in the forestry sector as well as basics of communication and work with people with special needs. The understanding of all this is needed for successful implementation of forest pedagogics activities.
